The Story of India by Michael Wood
Posted by danzinde on February 18, 2009
India gives me so many impressions about the way humanity, culture, civilization, language and faith have evolved over the ages of world history. Truly a “land of mystery”, and even for me being a native, there is always more to know. Michael Wood, travels through India and discovers all the diverse impressions that a country could probably reveal. One of the nicest documentary that i have ever seen about India. Please beware this should not stereotype your impressions about India, travelling a country by self has its own rich impressions.

I was lucky to see the whole series of the “Story of India” when it was broadcast on the BBC a couple of years ago. This is one of the best documentaries on India I have seen so far – and it taught me so much about Indian history.
I’m still looking for the DVD….
Check out Michael Wood’s book ” A Journey through South India” too – it’s a very good portrait of life in a South Indian family in the 90’s – very identifiable.
