TENC Winter’s Cool 2008 in Innsbrück ;-)

Posted by Danish Nadeem on February 17, 2008

I am spending a week long Tencompetence Winter School in Innsbrück (Austria). We arrived today from Rotterdam in an hour and 10 min flight to Innsbrück. It was exciting flight with an amazing view over the Alps. We were lucky to see clear blue sky and white mountain peaks, simply awesome!

We took taxi to arrive at Grillhof, dropping our bags and leaving directly to the woods for a hike. Tomorrow would be an official start and much people would pour in. The challenge is to keep the people involved in conference when the surroundings and weather tries to seduce you… we will see, . Tim is flickring using his iPhone…stay tuned for some impressions soon.

“Conceptual” template for Ph.D research

Posted by Danish Nadeem on November 18, 2007

…as a member of Dutch research School for Information and Knowledge Systems (SIKS), i was at a little Dutch town called Vught to attend 3 days course in “Research Methods and Methodology”. I really enjoyed the course content, interesting discussions with other Ph.D students across the Netherlands and great food n coffee :-) . The idea i received there is somehow an important step for initial research planning for Ph.D, I would term this as “Conceptual template” necessary during the Ph.d research. You get an idea of identifying your research problems, finding stakeholders (people interested in the outcome of your research results), designing research outline, finding research methods and tools and finally communicating your research (publications).

A very interesting and interactive talk was presented by Prof.Dr.Roel Wieringa, I will summarize the talk soon…let me have a coffee break :-)

…my phd outline on mindmeister

Posted by Danish Nadeem on October 9, 2007

Using the interesting features of Mindmeister, I have made a mind map which outlines the very primitive structure of pursuing a Ph.D research in context of EU projects. Please feel free to edit or add comments if you think there are any better and alternate ways. I found it handy to use mindmeister and give a visual view of my work plan offcourse it is subjected to change with experiences and your valuable comments. You can see a quick short tutorial how to use mindmeister [here]

You can view, share and edit my mindmaps [here], i guess you need to be a registered user with mindmeister.

If you want to know more about the inventor of the concept behind mindmap, then read about Tony buzan

interested more to know about the theory, read here a couple of articles that give an introduction to mind mapping: Mind Mapping in eight simple steps. courtesy (P.A Monteiro)
